Reimagining the Budget Hotel Experience
Confidential Hospitality Company - Translating guest insights into a repeatable hospitality experience.
01 / BRIEF & APPROACH
The engagement explored how a budget hotel brand could offer a distinctive guest experience within the practical constraints of affordability, space and operations.
Guest research informed an approach centred on comfort, convenience and opportunities for social interaction. The strategy translated these needs into a consistent experience that could adapt across different properties.
02 / MY CONTRIBUTION
Connecting guest experience with hospitality planning.
I led hospitality strategy and planning, translating research insights into experience principles, spatial recommendations and design guidelines.
The work considered the guest journey across arrival, reception, shared spaces and guestrooms, balancing individual needs with opportunities to connect. A 60-key hotel prototype helped translate the strategy into planning recommendations, providing a reference for room layouts, amenities and shared spaces.
03 / OUTCOMES
60-KEY PROTOTYPE
Testing the strategy through spatial planning
DESIGN GUIDELINES
A framework for application across properties
The engagement established a hospitality experience framework and planning guidelines to inform future hotel development, connecting guest needs with brand expression and operational requirements.
